I Tried Coyuchi For An Organic Bedding Makeover (2025 Review)
Summary: Coyuchi’s high-quality, organic, and intentional bedding combines luxury and the natural world in its pieces. As someone who cares about textures, materials, and aesthetics, their pieces are beautiful to look at when I’m awake — and so comfortable and cozy while I’m asleep.
Pros
- I love the luxurious and natural aesthetic of Coyuchi’s bedding basics.
- The bedding, from mattress pad to quilt, was so comfortable to cuddle up in at night.
- The 100% organic cotton and linen were so breathable for me as a hot sleeper, yet kept me warm enough in the winter too.
- I have peace of mind knowing that all of the pieces are made from high-quality, responsibly sourced, and certified materials.
Cons
- While the price point is comparable with other options on the market, I could see the higher price point being prohibitive for some.
“Coyuchi’s bedding is so calm, cozy, and natural, creating the perfect aesthetic and harmony for my bedroom.”
Quality bedding is crucial for me to get a good night’s sleep. I’m very sensitive to the textures and materials that I surround myself with in my bed each night. Microfiber bedsheets make me feel like I’m crawling out of my skin, and an itchy bedspread can literally keep me up all night tossing and turning. Not to mention, I’m a hot sleeper, so I need breathable materials that feel airy but still keep me warm in the cold Wisconsin winters.
It’s all a difficult balance to achieve, so when I was asked to review Coyuchi’s bedding, I was super excited, partly because they use so many natural materials (goodbye to my old big box store bedding!) and also because it’s beautiful. The vibes of my bedroom are also a necessity for my sleep hygiene, and Coyuchi’s bedding is so calm, cozy, and natural, creating the perfect aesthetic and harmony for my bedroom.
About Coyuchi
In 1991, Coyuchi was the first brand to offer 100% organic bedding. Founder Christine Nielson was inspired by her time living in Oaxaca, Mexico (“coyuchi” translates to the naturally occurring brownish color of cotton in Nahuatl), wanting to create bedding that was sustainable and made with pesticide-free agriculture.
“Coyuchi was the first brand to offer 100% organic bedding.”
Fast forward, and today Coyuchi is GOTS, Fair Trade, and Made Safe certified, and prioritizes regenerative agriculture and Circular Initiatives that limit waste and focus on linens that last a lifetime. Their bedding blends luxury and nature, offering high-quality pieces that look elegant and bring in the beauty, peace, and power of the natural world into the home.
Here’s the Coyuchi bedding I tried:
Even upon unboxing everything, I loved the feeling of the materials and the look of it. I was excited to try it all out! For my bedding refresh, I chose the following items:
After making my selections, everything arrived in two boxes in recyclable and reusable packaging. I was super excited to see that most of the bedding came in reusable cotton bags that I can use the next time I move or to store bedding and blankets I’m not currently using.

Organic Cotton Mattress Pad (Queen) | $298
I’ve never invested in a mattress pad before, but let this be my plea to you all that we all should absolutely be investing in our mattress pads! And this one is so, so comfortable. It’s made from 100% organic and GOTS and Made Safe Certified cotton, and the quilted design is soft, cushiony, and so comfortable. To put it in my fiancé’s words, “it feels like sleeping on a cloud.” And I couldn’t agree more. It elevated our entire bedding situation from the bottom up.
Also, one thing about me is that I hate making the bed, especially the struggle of putting on the mattress pad and fitted sheet because it feels like I’m wrestling an alligator (a very fluffy one, but still). But not with this mattress pad! No struggle at all! The 15-inch pocket on it made it really easy to get on the bed, no painful stretching, no hoping and praying that it fits. Just putting it on with ease and enjoying a cozy night of sleep.

Organic Crinkled Percale Sheet Set (Queen, Undyed) | $198
As I mentioned earlier, I am very picky about the textures and materials that I surround myself with when I sleep. Thankfully, these bedsheets are incredibly soft and designed with sensitive skin in mind. They’re made from GOTS Certified organic cotton, making them lightweight and breathable. I was so happy to have found sheets that are not only soft but also allow me to get a good night’s sleep without overheating.
Another cool thing about these sheets is that they have a casual, crinkled look. I love the effortless and relaxed design because it makes the bed feel lived in and homey, which makes me feel relaxed and chill too.

Three Season Down Duvet Insert (Queen) | $598
A good duvet is a staple, and I was super excited to pick out this three-season down option because it’s great year-round and will (hopefully!) last a lifetime. It’s made from 600-fill-power pure down that’s sourced and made in the USA. The 100% organic cotton shell is soft and down-proof, which keeps the feathers from poking through the fabric.
I love how pillowy and comfy this duvet was to sleep in. Coyuchi recommends the insert on its own for spring through fall (hence, “three season”), and then layered with a quilt in winter. It’s been really cold here, so layering it with the quilt has been perfect and so cozy all night long.

Organic Relaxed Linen Duvet Set (Queen, Natural Chambray) | $632
Coyuchi’s linen duvet gets softer with every sleep. It’s made from organic flax grown in France and woven in Portugal. It also has the cutest coconut shell buttons on the bottom where you insert the duvet — a great example of Coyuchi’s attention to detail in all its products.
Also, back to my qualm with making the bed, this duvet was surprisingly easy to put on. I was still sweating while putting it on, but it only took one try and it laid flat and looked great. The duvet ties onto the cover in the four corners, with the buttons at the bottom to close it up.
I love the feeling of this linen because it’s not itchy, it’s breathable, and it has such a nice casual look to it on the bed. The matching shams are equally comfortable, and I love the little detailing around the edges.

Pebble Handstitched Organic Quilt (Full/Queen, Undyed) | $348
A moment for this quilt please… absolutely stunning. Not only is this quilt beautiful, but it’s also made from organic GOTS Certified cotton and stitched by hand. I love the undyed look, with the multicolored thread embroidered throughout. It’s so simple yet elegant and adds such a lovely warmth to the bed.
I put the quilt under the duvet, in part because I was worried my cat would pull at the embroidery, but I could see this looking really nice on top of the duvet as well. And perhaps this summer if it gets really warm, I’ll put the duvet away and just have the lightweight quilt on the bed for a more airy bedscape.

Is Coyuchi bedding worth the upgrade?
“Thanks to my bedding refresh from Coyuchi, my bed is comfy, quality, and cute.”
Short answer? Yes!
It genuinely helps me sleep better at night to wrap myself in the soft, cozy materials of this bedding and know that it’s made with the environment and sustainability in mind and made from the highest quality materials. Thanks to my bedding refresh from Coyuchi, my bed is comfy, quality, and cute.
Of course, all of that comes at a higher price point — there’s no getting around the fact that the high-quality materials composing these products make the final result quite expensive — but these pieces are great for anyone looking to invest in their bedding for the long term.
