A Tour Of The Good Trade’s New Studio In Echo Park, Los Angeles
Welcome To Our New Studio!
We recently opened our first creative studio as a collaborative space to write, create and gather with like-minded friends seeking social impact. We are thrilled to be in the vibrant community of Echo Park, a diverse and eclectic neighborhood that effortlessly blends old and new, tradition and innovation.
The Eastside enclave of Echo Park has a century-long history of being home to many of the counter-culture, political radicals, artists, writers, architects and filmmakers of Los Angeles. Blake and I launched The Good Trade in the neighborhood in late 2014, and when a small space in historic Echo Park recently became available, we felt it was the perfect creative home for our growing team and community.

Co-founders, Amyann and Blake Cadwell
Our team worked with designer Erin Kane to bring our values for sustainability and transparency to life in our new studio. We looked to source as many local and conscious brands as possible and lean into our love of natural colors and minimalism.
Some of our favorite pieces are sourced from The Citizenry, Rove Concepts, Article, West Elm’s Fair Trade Collections and our local Cactus Shop. Art from local watercolorist, Kristine Claghorn, and independent artist, Melanie Severin, bring color and depth to our minimal space. And we can’t stop outfitting the studio with succulents and prints from Shout and About, our favorite gift boutique just a few doors down.

Day to day, the studio serves as a creative home for our team and contributors to write, shoot photography and collaborate. In coming months, we plan to host frequent pop-up retail events with sustainable brands and small community gatherings.
